FCIAC boys soccer: Norwalk and Darien lead tight playoff race

Posted Thursday, October 20, 2011 by William Petroccio
As usual, the conclusion to the FCIAC boys soccer season is a frenzied one, as only three of the eight playoff spots have been sealed up with a week remaining.

Fairfield-Warde (6-4-3, 21 points)

Remaining Games: Friday home vs. Norwalk; Monday at Ridgefield; Oct. 27 at Westhill.

The Mustangs are on the outside looking in with a week remaining, but are just two points off the playoff pace. Also giving Warde life is a matchup against Westhill in the season finale next week, as the Vikings are one of the teams just ahead of the Mustangs.

Still, Warde will need to get past top-ranked Norwalk on Friday and take on the Tigers in Ridgefield Monday to help keep its hopes alive heading into the final game.
